Kerang

Attempted burglary, Boundary Street, Kerang

Overnight October 17, an unknown person attempted to gain entry to a Boundary Street property.

The owner found tool marks on a metal sliding door at the back of the premises and damage to windows.

Criminal damage, Kerang Cemetery Trust

On October 21, it was reported a tree and the female public toilets had been vandalised.


Cohuna

Attempted burglary, Gibbons Drive

Between 10pm on October 17 and 5am the next day an attempt was made to jimmy the front door of a mechanical business.

The front fence has been pushed open, and several tool trucks have been opened and rummaged through.

Burglary, Murray Valley Highway

On October 18, Cohuna Secondary College had two of their back sheds broken into overnight.

Chains had been cut from both sheds and school equipment including power tools were taken.

Swan Hill

Tool theft and theft from motor vehicle

On October 16 it was discovered a shed at the rear of a River Oaks address Swan Hill had been entered.

A vehicle was broken into and rifled through.

Power tools valued at almost $2000 were stolen but later recovered in the rear seat of stolen vehicle dumped nearby.

Burglary, Campbell Street

On October 18, 8.30am, staff of a real estate office found the premises had been broken into.

Files and cabinets were open, with papers scattered everywhere. The rear office window had been forced with a screwdriver or similar tool.

Disqualified driver failed to stop

On October 22, about 10:35am, Swan Hill Police on foot patrol in Beveridge Street saw a male who was a disqualified driver behind the wheel of a car.

The male reversed his vehicle out of a parking space near the pedestrian crossing on Beveridge Street with police giving the male a clear direction to stop. The male instead drove south towards the McCrae Street roundabout. The vehicle was located a short time later at an address in Swan Hill where it was impounded.

The male will be summonsed to court for charges including driving while disqualified and failing to stop on police direction.

Lake Boga

Burglary, Lakeside Drive

Between 5pm on October 15 and 6.30pm on October 16 a property was broken into. The offenders entered through a front, dining room, window, after bending a fly wire screen and breaking the latch. The property and two unlocked garden sheds at the back of the property were rifled through. It’s unclear if anything was stolen. Damage to the property was $500.

Criminal damage, Lake Boga Ski Club, Willakool Drive

Between approximately 8pm on Octobber 10 and 8am the next day offenders a smashed a window beside the door on the first floor balcony and entered the property. Nothing of value was at the premises. Damage is estimated at $500.


Birchip

Unlawful assault

During the Mallee Root Round-Up Ball at Birchip Harness Track on October 19 around 10.15pm a male was punched in the face by another male while watching a live band in the bar area.

He was treated for swelling to the right side of his face at the first aid tent.

A statement was taken by police the next day and injuries photographed. It is believed that both males were affected by alcohol.
