Deception: IN January the victim received a text from someone purporting to be her son, advising that they had lost their phone and requesting money. It was only after the transfer was made that the victim realised that they had been scammed. There has been some reporting around the “Hi Mum” scam. Police advice to speak to the person requesting funds before transferring any.

SWAN HILL

Theft from motor vehicle: AN offender gained entry to a vehicle parked in Pritchard Street and stole a laptop and Garmin just after 2am on Saturday, February 15. A second vehicle in the area was targeted but no entry was gained. Vehicles parked in Foster Street were also targeted during a similar period.

Vehicle theft: OFFENDERS stole a white Hilux utility from a property on Saleyards Road between 12pm, Wednesday, February 12 and 6am the following day.

BULOKE

Burglary: OFFENDERS forced entry to a church in Berriwillock between 12pm Sunday, February 15, and 9am the following day. During a similar time period, offenders also forced entry to a building at the Berriwillock Recreation Reserve. At this stage it appears nothing has been stolen.
