Small schools’ swim

STUDENTS from some of the district’s smaller primary schools took to the Koondrook Swimming Pool on Tuesday.

Pupils from Gunbower, Koondrook, Leitchville and Welton primary schools competed in a variety of events during the Rural Schools Swimming Sports.

Schools accumulated points for each event competed in, with senior students taking to the main pool and younger children competing in the smaller pool.

A number of novelty events were also held, with Welton Primary School taking out the overall event.

The event doubled as qualifying for the zone swimming championships, occurring on Monday.
