CMFNL – Key game for Kangas, Tigers

TWO sides that lost their opening Central Murray Football Netball League matches will look to bounce back tomorrow.

The Cohuna Kangas will host Woorinen in a key game for both teams.

The Kangas went down to Swan Hill by 39 points under lights, whilst Woorinen lost to the Mallee Eagles by 67 points.

Doug Palmer kicked six of the Tigers’ eight goals last weekend and looms as a player the Kangas need to stop to produce the club’s first win against Woorinen since the 2014 home and away season.

Harrison Keely – who was one of the Kangas’ best players last weekend – looms as Kangas coach Rick Easton’s best option to negate the Tigers’ forward, with Rhys Bradley to provide valuable assistance in the back third of the ground.

Easton will be one player Tigers coach, Marcus DeMaria will look to stop, with the Kangas leader booting six goals of his last weekend. Aaron Cadd will be the player most suited to this battle.

Mathew Iannucci will also be one player the home side will need to stop to produce an upset win, with Dylan Friedberger to be the first choice to take on this midfield battle.

Woorinen won by 69 points when these sides met last year. The margin may be closer tomorrow.

PREDICTION: Woorinen will prevail by 40 points.
