Kervin off to State titles

COHUNA Secondary College student, James Kervin will line up in next month’s State cross country final after finishing in second place at the recent regional meet.

From a field of 50 in the 16-year-old age group, the year 10 student crossed the line in a time of 15 minutes, 52 seconds at the recent Loddon Mallee Cross Country Regional final, held at St Arnaud.

Kervin will now travel to Melbourne’s Bundoora Park for the State finals on Monday, July 18.

The former Cohuna Little Athletics member, who trains once a week in Echuca, said he reaches potential in long distance running.

“It was pretty cold and tough to warm up at the regionals, but the hills weren’t too difficult,” Kervin said.
