CMFNL – History on Saints’ side

THE Cohuna Kangas could be one step closer to challenging for the Central Murray Football Netball League finals with a win tomorrow against Tooleybuc/Manangatang.

The Kangas are one win away from equalling their 2015 efforts, and Rick Easton’s men will aim to make a statement against last season’s elimination finalists.

The Kangas challenged the Mallee Eagles two weeks ago before the match was called off, whilst the Saints went down to Nyah-Nyah West United by 27 points.

It has been five years since both sides have met at Manangatang, with the Saints prevailing on that occasion.

Tooleybuc/Manangatang also holds a strong record against the competition’s southernmost side, winning its past three games against the Kangas.

If the Kangas are to produce a win, the visitors will need to stop Ryan O’Sullivan from dominating in the ruck and Stephen Lyons from leading the way in front of goal.

Rhys Bradley and Saints recruit, Lachlan Gleeson will battle it out in the midfield, with Damien Kefford to take on O’Sullivan and Harrison Keely to jostle with Lyons.

Easton will also be a pivotal player for the Kangas, with the forward needing to get the better of James Summerhayes to buck history.

PREDICTION: Tooleybuc/Manangatang will win by 10 points.
