HDFNL – Bombers to meet Hawks

LEITCHVILLE/GUNBOWER will take on Huntly in this weekend’s Heathcote District Football Netball League second semi-final after the Hawks account for reigning premiers, North Bendigo on Saturday.

Led by seven goals from Ryan Semmel, Huntly held on to record a nine-point win and book a spot in the second semi-final against the competition’s minor premiers at Lockington on Saturday.

Two other Bombers sides will play for the chance to progress to the grand final at Lockington. The club’s under 17 footballers will play Lockington Bamawm United, whilst the 17 and Under netballers face Colbinabbin.

Five of the Bombers’ teams played in finals at the weekend, with the club recording two wins and three losses.

The Bombers’ 15 and Under netballers lost to Colbinabbin 23-24 in the qualifying final at Toolleen and will play Elmore in the first semi-final on Sunday at White Hills.

Joining the club’s youngest netballers will be the club’s A Grade and A Reserve netballers, which recorded wins against Huntly and Heathcote in Sunday’s elimination finals, held at Leitchville.

The club’s reserves footballers’ season ended at the hands of Heathcote following a 20-point loss on Sunday, whilst the club’s B Grade netballers lost to Colbinabbin 45-53 in the elimination final on the same day.
