School leadership growth recognised

KERANG Christian College has been acknowledged for its expansion of studies across both primary and secondary school levels.

The college has been named as a semi-finalist in the leadership and innovation award section in the prestigious Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Awards.

The next round of judging, which determines the finalists, will occur tomorrow.

This year marks the completion of the college’s expansion into a Prep to Year 12 school.

The college has progressively added a year level each year to expand from a Prep-6 primary school to a Prep to Year 12 college over the past six years.

College principal, Michael Bond said that the college had experienced 97 per cent growth during this period.

The college provides an innovative middle school elective program, Victorian Certificate of Education studies and the opportunity to study VCE face-to-face and by video conference.

New facilities have been constructed to best meet the learning needs of the students.

Kerang District Health’s district nursing service was recently announced as an awards nominee.

The winners will be announced at a dinner on October 14. All nominees regardless of judging results are invited to attend and will be presented with a framed certificate on stage to honour their achievements and community contribution.
