Wade claims Betts Medal

SWAN Hill midfielder, Matthew Wade is the toast of the Central Murray Football Netball League after winning the competition’s highest accolade last night.

Wade received the Jack Betts Medal last night, announced at the league’s presentation evening at Swan Hill.

Also recognised at the event was Tooleybuc/Manangatang goal shooter, Zoe Fuller, who claimed the A Grade netball best and fairest.

Nyah-Nyah West United pair Ben Sheridan (reserves) and Dom Violi (Colts) swept the remaining football best and fairest titles on offer, with Woorinen’s trio Rachel McLaughlin (A Reserve), Andrianna Pay (B Grade) and Olivia Jones (17 and Under), as well as Swan Hill’s Megan Kelly (B Reserve) winning netball best and fairest awards.

Tyntynder’s Kelsey Rowe won the under 19 netball distinction award, with Woorinen’s Jose Miliado announced as the football rookie of the year

Koondrook/Barham coach, Neil Bradley received the senior coach of the year honour, with Woorinen’s Lui Gallo the youth coach of the year and Tyntynder’s Luke Kelly the Auskick co-ordinator of 2016.

Woorinen won the club championship award, with Tooleybuc/Manangatang presented with the football club excellence award.

CMFNL life member, Rosie Ficarra added another accolade to her collection, with the Woorinen Football Netball Club past player, coach and umpire receiving the league’s identity of the year award.
