THE Cohuna Post Office is the latest victim of a spate of break-ins blighting the district.
The business was targeted early last Tuesday by a lone hooded burglar.
Owner Paul Donat said the business’s front doors were jimmied apart at 3.31am, triggering an alarm.
While he arrived on the scene only 10 minutes later, the burglar was already gone.
Mr Donat said security camera footage showed the burglar was inside for only 30 seconds, quickly surveying the shop and taking a $1200 camera before fleeing. There was no cash on the premises.
Based on the footage, Mr Donat described the burglar as “athletic and agile”, easily jumping onto the counter to access the staff area.
“I’m upset and angry but it could have been worse, someone could have been hurt.” he said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cohuna police on 5456 4150 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
