Op-shop’s growing venture

COHUNA’S major opportunity shop will operate a second outlet during the next four weeks in an effort to sell a large amount of its stock.

Thanks to the generosity of a local landowner, the Cohuna Anglican Op-Shop will expand to a second location in the town.

The Pop-Up Op Shop is already generating interest, with volunteers receiving many questions about the new operation.

“We’ve had a number of concerned people come in and ask if we were a group from out of town setting up,” op-shop co-ordinator, Marilyn Hornsby said.

Volunteers are undertaking extra hours to look after both stores, with all funds raised to support the Anglican Church and missions.

“People in Cohuna are just so generous. We’ve had 50 bags of clothes donated since moving into this area, and 10 per cent of our stock still has a price tag on them,” Mrs Hornsby said.

“We’re running a second outlet as a way to spread out our stock. We have so many beautiful clothes we want to put on display and sell.”

As part of a special offer, all clothing items at the store – located at 24 King Edward Street – will be available to purchase for $1 per item next week.

The outlet will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm, as well as Saturdays from 10am to 12 noon, through to mid-March.
