Best stud goats under scrutiny

SOME of the best stud goats in Australia were presented for scrutiny by one of the leading judges during the Australasian Boer Goat Show at Cohuna on Saturday.

It was the third successive year that the Cohuna District Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Society has hosted the annual event.

Show co-ordinator, Dean Smith said that the show was a lead-in to the nation’s major goat show held in conjunction with the Royal Sydney Show.

South African judge, Theuns Botha cast judgement over about 120 entries of Boer and Red goats from 17 studs. Breeders travelled from Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and various parts of Australia for the show at the Cohuna Recreation Reserve.
