A KERANG couple who are volunteering their time on a ship that provides free, world-class health care services to underprivileged countries will feature in a documentary to be shown tonight.
Lindsay and Dianne Sherriff have spent the past three years working with Mercy Ships as full-time volunteers, serving in Madagascar and Benin, and will return home later this year.
The story of the Sherriffs will feature in the documentary, The Surgery Ship – a program screened on Foxtel channel, Nat Geo People.
The documentary brings to life the world-class health care services, capacity building and sustainable development that Mercy Ships has been providing for almost 40 years to those in the developing world.
Tonight’s episode focuses on the Sherriffs, who met while studying medicine at university in Adelaide.
The pair worked at the Fitzroy Street Medical Clinic, combining anaesthetics and obstetrics with general physician and paediatrics work, before joining Mercy Ships.
The episode will screen at 7.30pm, with repeats occurring throughout the week.
