THE Central Murray Football Netball League claimed a second consecutive win against Heathcote District in Saturday’s AFL Victoria Community Championship encounter.
Central Murray dominated in the second and third quarters to claim a 48-32 win, with Tyntynder’s Jac Clark shooting 25 goals.
Heathcote District started strongly in the match at Bendigo’s Queen Elizabeth Oval, opening up a two-goal lead at quarter time, however, Central Murray rallied.
A 14-6 second term and 11-7 third quarter ensured the visitors went into the final stanza up by 10 goals.
Carly Marie-Clark was prolific in the defensive third, with her efforts resulting in the best on court medal.

THE Golden Rivers Netball League fell two goals shy of recording its first AFL Victoria Community Championship win.
Playing Kyabram District for the second time in 12 months, it took until late in the match for Kyabram District to open up an advantage, prevailing 41-39.
Golden Rivers went into the opening break with a 10-9 lead, with Kyabram District levelling the scores at 18-all at half-time.
In what turned out to be a match for the defenders, Kyabram District opened up a five-goal lead in the third quarter, which Golden Rivers were able to claw back.
However, the visitors’ experience proved too strong in the end.
Sarah Young received the medal for being best on court.
Juniors prevail
GOLDEN Rivers’ 17 and Under netballers produced a second consecutive win against Kyabram District in the space of 12 months.
Morgan Keating was best on court in the hosts’ 42-23 win against Kyabram District, with the result building on last year’s win in Golden Rivers’ inaugural interleague appearance.
Kyabram District held the lead early in the match at Murrabit, holding a 7-6 advantage at quarter time.
Golden Rivers took control of the game in the second quarter, benefiting from shooting at the scoring end of the court.
The hosts shot 16 goals to eight in the second quarter to lead 21-15 at half-time, before dominating the third quarter to lead 33-18 with one term to play.
