HDFNL – Percentage boost aim

LEITCHVILLE/GUNBOWER will look to build its percentage up tomorrow when the Bombers host the Heathcote District Football Netball League’s ninth-placed side, Mount Pleasant.

The match – the Bombers’ first since a round 10 victory against Colbinabbin – is the start of a 21-day period that will see Matt Hawken’s team take on three of the competition’s bottom four teams.

A win will cut the gap between the Bombers and competition leaders, North Bendigo to one victory – thanks to the two-time defending grand finalists having the bye – with the Bulldogs holding a far superior percentage over the 2015 and 2016 grand finalists.

The Bombers defeated the Blues by 124 points when the teams last met in round three, with a similar result on the cards tomorrow.

It is difficult to see how the likes of Adam Richardson and Nick Edwards will be able to control proceedings in the middle of the ground for the visitors against the likes of Brad Ladson, Matt Ladson and Jackson McEwen.

Matt Perri could have a day out in front of goal for Leitchville/Gunbower, whilst Ryan Prendergast and the hosts’ defenders will be too strong for Michael Whiting and Daniel Kerr.

PREDICTION: Leitchville/Gunbower will record a seventh consecutive win against Mount Pleasant, this time by more than 100 points.
