CMFNL – It’s Tigers against Blues

WOORINEN will take on Kerang in this weekend’s Central Murray Football Netball League grand final after the Tigers fought back to defeat Swan Hill in Saturday’s preliminary final.

The Swans – who finished fifth on the ladder at the end of the home and away season – led by two points at quarter time and trailed by four points at the main break, before taking advantage of Woorinen’s inaccuracy in front of goal.

Swan Hill – who had managed 12 shots at goal by the final break – led by five points with one quarter to play, capitalising on Woorinen’s scoreline of 6.11 (47).

However, the Tigers clicked in the fourth quarter, kicking four goals to two to progress to their first grand final since 2012.

Doug Beames kicked three goals for the Tigers, with Brenton Caldwell (three goals) the most prolific Swan in front of goal.
