MOTORING enthusiasts on two wheels, three and four will embark on a journey across the district tomorrow with the aim of supporting local residents at Christmas.
This example of Christian charity will involve motorcyclists and car club members embarking on the annual Gannawarra Memorial Toy Run.
Car club members will line up along Kerang’s main shopping strip between 8am and 8.45am and motorcyclists will set out from the fire station at Leitchville at 8am.
The toy run will head to Barham for a morning tea stop 10am, then continuing on a journey culminating in a show and shine competition in Garden Park at Cohuna.
Toy run participants will be collecting cash, gift vouchers and new toys donations along the route and at stopping points to help finance hampers for district residents.
Toy run co-ordinator, Fr Simon Robinson said that all proceeds will contribute towards the provision of hampers.
“We want to brighten peoples’ Christmas,” he said.
“It’s our way of saying that we care about you.”
