THE Northern District Cricket Association’s top three could have a new look tomorrow, depending on results in round 12’s matches.
Competition leaders, Wandella and defending premiers, Leitchville/Gunbower will clash in the game of the round at Gunbower, with third-placed side, Cohuna United also capable of leading the league tomorrow with a win against Barham/Koondrook at Koondrook.
Less than four points separates the Bombers and United on the ladder, with each result critical to how the top four will look going into March 3’s semi-finals.
Although leading the competition, Wandella is yet to defeat Leitchville/Gunbower this season, with the competition’s southernmost teams defeating the Bombers in their past five meetings.
Meanwhile, United will be the biggest benefactor of the result at Gunbower, with the team capable of climbing up the ladder thanks to a win against Barham/Koondrook.
The border side is still looking for its first win of the season, and thanks to the efforts of Country Week representatives, Garry and Warren Lolicato with the ball and bat, challenged Wandella last weekend before losing by 45 runs.
Tomorrow’s match will be United’s first completed game since December 9, with Daniel Cooke and Country Week player, Bradley Griffiths key to the visitors’ chance of securing a fifth win of the season.

THE battle between two sides aiming to play in the Northern District Cricket Association’s B Grade second semi-final on March 3 will intensify tomorrow.
Both third-placed side, Barham/Koondrook and fourth-placed team, Leitchville/Gunbower can close the gap to second-placed side, Wandella with wins tomorrow, thanks to the Bombers having the bye.
Both the border side and the competition’s southernmost team go into their respective games against Cohuna United and Wandella Warriors as favourites due to their positions on the ladder and results from earlier in the season.
If both teams win, it will mean less than four points will separate second to fourth spot on the ladder, and with the Bombers to play both teams in the next two rounds, the results of this weekend’s matches will be critical.
Meanwhile, Nondies can move one week closer to securing the minor premiership and second semi-final hosting rights with a win against seventh-placed team, Kerang Fairley Town tomorrow.
