Top two to meet

THE Northern District Bowls Division midweek pennant minor premiers will aim next week to add a premiership to their successful seasons.

Division One competition leaders, Pyramid Hill and two-time defending Division Two premiers, Leitchville both progressed to next Wednesday’s grand finals, being held at Cohuna Golf.

Pyramid Hill and Cohuna Golf played out the match of the day during Wednesday’s preliminary final, held at Cohuna, with the competition’s southernmost side recording a 73-70 win.

The result sets up a grand final showdown between Pyramid Hill – which is yet to win a top-flight pennant title in either midweek or Saturday competition – and Kerang, which won its last title in 2014/15.

Meanwhile, Leitchville’s goal of a third consecutive Division Two title remains a possibility thanks to a 63-38 victory against Cohuna Golf.

The win means Leitchville will play Cohuna in the decider – with Cohuna’s last Division Two title occurring in the 2002/03 season.

Both grand finals will begin at 9am.
