THE Murrabit Easter Market attracted people from far and wide last weekend, with many coming for the the local produce and the unique arts and crafts.
Visitors came from Swan Hill, Echuca, Melbourne and Adelaide to peruse the stalls and enjoy an ice-cream or baked potato from local vendors.
Many picked up something special to take home with them.
Some have even made it a part of their Easter tradition, like the Davies family who described it as an annual highlight.
“We came from Swan Hill. We camp for Easter and this definitely adds to the attraction,” Belinda Davies said.
“The kids have been talking about getting baked potatoes [from here] for weeks.”
Audrey Smith came from Adelaide with a bus tour group, and also visits the market annually.
“This is our fourth visit on this tour and it feels like home. [We’re enjoying it] very much,” she said.
Locals took the chance to showcase what the area offers, with the Murrabit Men’s Shed holding a stall of hand-crafted wood work pieces.
Rocky Demaria of Lake Boga sold fruit and vegetables and can generally be found weighing grapes and pumpkins.
“I usually do this market and it’s a little bit busier [today],” he said.
Street theatre, face painting, and jumping castles provided entertainment for the kids, whilst Jimmy Johnson performed live music for the crowds.
The weather only added the morning, putting on a gorgeous display of sunshine and clear skies for attendees.
