Annual Medal of Medals Day

Cohuna

The ladies at Cohuna Golf Club held the Annual Medal of Medals Day last Wednesday, and it was Judy Simmonds (73) who took out the honours.

Sandra Hancock was runner-up (75), with Glenda Crichton (76) and Kate Peace (77) also performing well.

Sandra Hancock and Linda Moloney took out the nearest the pins and Di Woolhouse had the least putts.

Thursday’s R&R saw Dom Baxter victorious in A grade with 37 points and the B grade went to Richard Callen with 36.

Kevin Horridge edged out Bruce Bird on countback with 34 points for the runner-up spot and Geoff Miller had 33.

Nearest the pins went to Mickey Russel, Murray Johnson and Geoff Miller.

Friday’s public holiday saw a small field compete and Peter Toogood won on countback from Daniel ‘Bear’ Love with 35.

Brian Roberts, Richard Callen and Dom Baxter took out nearest the pins.

Wayne Robinson certainly has not been ‘Dusty’ of late with another excellent performance of nett 69 allowing him to claim first prize in Sunday’s stroke event.

The B grade was taken out by Jim Taylor with 75.

Dennis McGlone (70) is a name often appearing on the winners list in recent times, as is that of Kevin Crane (74).

Bruce Bird and Mal Appleby (75 countback) are also names being typed out regularly.

Bruce Bird and Kevin Crane also won two nearest the pins each.

Congratulations to John Corry and Bear Love, with both winning their matches in the singles knockout, with other matches for this round continuing this week.
