COHUNA GOLF

THE calendar tells us that the bowls season is just about upon us, although currently the weather gods think otherwise.

Nevertheless, the golf greens have been readied for whoever would like to sharpen up with some practice, knowing that our pairs competition begins this Thursday at 1pm. Names to Peter Bibby (0407 369 593) before 12 noon.

From then on, events are pretty continuous, with members attending tournaments at Kerang and Deniliquin to begin with.

Our opening day is set for September 11, a mixed fours event kindly sponsored by Mawsons.

Entries, either teams or single names, to Peter or Cheryle.

The weekly ladies bowls commences two days later on September 13. Practice matches have been scheduled for September 18 (home against Cohuna) and on October 1 (away to Echuca).

The match committee will be collecting names, both men and ladies most welcome.

Our entered pennant teams are the same as last year, with a big task ahead to maintain our dominance of Northern District bowls.

Lots of practice and the addition of a few new faces into our ranks will refresh everyone leading into the new season.

Anyone needing items of club clothing should check in with Yvonne (home this weekend) to ensure delivery before pennant begins.
