Across the Greens – Cohuna

TUESDAY social bowls winners this week were Terri, Marg R and Kaye H, well done.

The final game of home and away pennant was played on Wednesday. We hosted Pyramid Hill, our Cohuna 2 travelled out to Golf and Cohuna 3 went to Barham.

Cohuna 1 84/12 d Pyramid Hill 47/0. This leaves us in top position for the first finals. The teams are going to practice in Barham on Tuesday at 5pm. Could skippers please organise their team.

Cohuna 2 49/0 lost to Cohuna Golf 65/12. This team battled all year and were top four contenders, just losing to Barham by two shots two weeks ago.

Cohuna 3 19/0 lost to Barham 2 48/8. Lack of numbers was telling in this division and we thank those who helped out all season.

In Saturday pennant, Cohuna 1 had a tough battle all day with ladder leaders Cohuna Golf.

When the last bowl settled in, it was Cohuna up by five shots. Congratulations and a week off before the grand final. Cohuna 1 65/10 d Cohuna Golf 1 60/2.

The news was not so good for Cohuna 2. Up against a strong Barham side, we were out bowled on the day. Cohuna 2 35/0 lost to Barham 2 85/12.

The Champion of Champions was held at Kerang on Sunday. Our club was represented by Frank Tonn and Rhonda Ballard. Frank and Rhonda both won their first round games and will play again next Sunday. Best of luck to you both.

Rodney did us proud in Melbourne. He won his way into the final eight, only to go down by a handful of shots. What an experience for a relatively new bowler. No longer a novice Rodney, well done.

Our club was well represented at Pyramid Hill on Sunday afternoon. What a great format and a fantastic day all round. The day was won by Marj (s), Rhonda and Kate, congratulations ladies.

Good luck to those playing in finals this week. All spectators most welcome to come along and encourage our team. Hope to see you there.
