Green opens to all abilities

LAWN bowling for people of all abilities is on at Kerang Bowling Club.

Mallee Sports Assembly project officer Rhonda Allen said the club was always very responsive and welcoming in opening its doors for inclusive sport and recreation.

Ms Allen attended the first session, with staff and participants from both We Are Vivid Kerang and Swan Hill having a lot of fun trying to hit the kitty.

“Despite the weather being a little on the warm side, everyone was active in participation,” Ms Allen said.

“The greens are in tip-top condition and Kerang is so fortunate to have such great sporting venues in the township.”

Club members Gayle Teasdale, Don and Jacqui Jenkins and Lorraine Adams assisted guest bowlers.

Ms Allen thanked the volunteers for their support.

The four-week program, which started on February 9, is an initiative of the Access for All Abilities Program funded by Sport and Recreation Victoria.

All are welcome.
