Across the Greens – Kerang Golf

EVEN quieter this week with only one day of bowls at Kerang Golf, with Saturday a little too hot.

The Thursday social welcomed Kevin from Maryborough in Queensland to join members in two games.

At the completion, the Jeff Anderson-skipped pairing with Howard McClelland ran out winners with two wins and 18 shots up, just in front of the Rob Malseed led trio of Sonia McLeish and Dale Spinks who also had two wins, but only 13 shots up.

Encouragement chocolates to Rob Fisher, Bryce McLeish and Craig Hicks.

Last Wednesday morning saw the final of the B Grade singles completed, with a competitive game of closely contested bowls, which took 26 ends to find a winner. Rob Fabry came from 12/7 down to eventually hit the lead on the 24th end and complete the win on the 26th, with a final score of 22/19 against Bryce McLeish. Well done to both bowlers on a game, fitting of a final.

Members are reminded of the presentation day on Sunday, April 16.

The format will be a game of social bowls, commencing at 1pm, with presentation of all trophies won during the season to be held at afternoon tea in the clubhouse after bowls.

Our annual Anzac Day triples in aid of the Kerang RSL and Legacy is on Tuesday, April 25.

You can enter your team now on the entry sheet on the board.

Please also support the neighbouring club tournaments that are coming up, with Gunbower’s Star Day on Sunday, followed by Kerang’s tournament during the Easter weekend.
