Across the Greens – Cohuna

ANOTHER full-on week for the club. Tuesday winners this week Alan Cooke, Jeff Gruar and Bill Ainger. Well done guys. Good to see you back at bowls Jeff.

Wednesday some travelled to Bendigo to support Alison and Rhonda in the State Pairs. Unfortunately it was not to be, but they both played well. Slow greens and two unlucky ends saw them go down. A fine effort just to make the finals. Well done ladies.

Monday several teams went to Castlemaine for their tournament. Our boys came home winners. Brian, Jeff, Mike and Noddy had a great day. Noddy also won a raffle (or two or three).

Thursday it was off to Horsham for a couple of days. Dallas, Rick and Keith scooped the pool. It’s terrific to see you supporting all these clubs. Jeff Reade’s team did well in Horsham too. Came home third place getters. Well done fellas.

Saturday and Sunday the Regional Pennant finals were held in Barham. Midweek was first up on Saturday.

The teams performed very well. Going down to Sunraysia by two shots in the first round proved costly.

We went on to beat both Tyrell and Murray Downs comfortably, but Murray Downs’ big win over Tyrell was too hard to overcome. Every team performed very well. Top effort.

Sunday the guys and Rhonda played extremely well to win all three games. They now go on to represent our region in the State Pennant Finals held at Moama in May. Very exciting and more celebrating. Well done each and every one of you.

Autumn Tournament is not far away. Lots of help needed if you are available. Nomination forms out on the board. Please consider taking on a position.

Names in by 9.15am for Social Bowls this Tuesday.
