Easter tournament returns

KERANG Bowling Club Easter Tournament returns this weekend for a six-day carnival of bowls.

Starting Good Friday with the medley pairs event, the tournament goes right through to the following Wednesday, when the tournament ends with a three-bowl pairs event.

The main show will be on Monday with the fours event.

KBC Easter Tournament organiser Alyne Fagg told the Gannawarra Times a good crowd of bowlers from far and wide were coming to participate.

“Our busiest day will be on Monday, where 90 players are set to play, but the numbers will vary on each day,” he said.

“On Saturday, many players like to go to the races, so that will be a bit of a light-on day, for example.

“We’ve got some outstanding players coming from right over the state.

“There are several regulars attending from Mornington, a crew from Buninyong and players from Bendigo, Inverloch and Apollo Bay, so we’re getting a good smattering of visitors from different areas.”

Fagg was hopeful for the weather gods to be kind this year after the rain last year halted play on both Monday and Tuesday.

EVENTS:

Friday – Medley Pairs

Saturday – 3 Bowl Triples

Sunday – 2 Bowl Triples

Monday – Fours

Tuesday – Two Bowl Triples Social Day

Wednesday – Three Bowl Pairs Event
