Across the Greens – Cohuna

ANOTHER great turn-up on a beautiful day for bowls. We welcomed John and Ros from Ballarat, and Peter Bibby from Golf.

A different format this week with skippers taking on leaders positions. A bit of fun and draw practice for those off to Moama next month for the State Pennant Finals.

Winners on the day were Ken, Barb and Frank in a close battle. Well done.

This week is Anzac Day and the ladies pairs final will be played in the afternoon. The mixed final will be played on Wednesday.

Pie & Soup was at Cohuna this week on another perfect day. Lots of happy bowlers enjoying the competition.

Congratulations to Gary, Des and Jon (Cohuna Golf) the only three-game winners on the day. Runners-up Peter, Noddy and Keith (Cohuna), third place Mick, Bruce and Brian (Cohuna Golf).

Saturday social saw another good roll-up. The selectors did a top job under Noddy’s supervision.

So many draws but the winners on the day were Rhonda (s), Kaye H and Ros. Well done girls. We welcomed Peter and Jeanette Pitson from Pelican Waters.

The club wishes to extend their condolences to Ann and family on the passing of Ken. Ken was a very keen bowler and worker at the club since joining in 2019. Vale Ken.

Presentation night April 29 and AGM May 10. Nominations need to be finalised very soon. If you want to take on a position, forms are on the board.

Still plenty of tournaments around. Check your book or see Keith or Terri. Good bowling.
