Across the Greens

Cohuna

ANOTHER busy week for Cohuna bowlers, both for those at home and those playing up north during their holidays.

Marg R proudly let us know that Jeff R and Mick C were recent winners of the pairs at the Sunshine Coast Winter Bowls Carnival. Congratulations and well done.

Tuesday’s social bowls was well attended again with 24 bowlers playing two games of 10 ends each. The winners were Rhonda, Jeff G, Rodney and Marian, who managed to win two games and collect the prizes.

Thanks again to Keith, the greens were running well due to his work, which is appreciated by all the members.

The social event of the week was well attended.

It’s great to see members supporting Friday night for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks followed by carpet bowls. Dallas does a really good job organising tea which this week was sausages and rissoles.

Fittingly, Dallas bowled as well as he cooks and won the night along with Richard.

Pennant is not far away and our selectors are diligently putting teams together for the upcoming season which starts in early October.

A few of us who are a bit rusty will have to get the practice gear out to ensure we’re up to standard for the competition to come.

There is a great selection of photos on Facebook this week with lots of celebrations and good times enjoyed by many members.

Winners on Saturday were Rick, Barb and Corale.

There were 28 players who enjoyed the day, which was followed by a sausage sizzle.
