COHUNA GOLF

TUESDAY’S social bowlers were organised into triples teams, with John Brown joining Irene Trezise and Helen Hall to collect the winners’ trophies.

Next up was round two of the Pie and Soup series at Leitchville, with the team of Bruce Morrison, Alan Cook and Barney McLoughlan sweeping all before them to claim first prize.

This week we play at Cohuna, with Gunbower to follow.

The following day a large contingent packed up and headed to Yarrawonga, to take part in the annual Duke of Edinburgh event, an unofficial RSL championship.

The weather and company were great, and after a couple of previous second place finishes, our local bowlers this year came first in the section. A terrific effort by all who participated.

Thanks to Irene for organising all the accommodation and acting again as manager.

The winner across the total venues will be decided on rink wins and shots up when all results are in.

Tournaments supported by club members during the week included Pyramid Hill, Elmore and Gunbower, with a heap to follow this week at Barham then Kerang.

Details are all on our tournament board.

Our Annual Meeting was held this week, with a report on new office-bearers next week.

With some exciting new proposals for improvements, and some new faces on board there is plenty to look forward to in the coming season.
