Every bit of victories

MURRABIT has won the Northern District Cricket Association’s Under 13/14 premiership, following three exciting finals matches held last Saturday.

Three direct hits for runs outs in the final over of the NDCA Under 13/14 cricket grand final clinched the victory for Murrabit, against a determined and talented Barham team.

Both grand final teams narrowly defeated Boort Yando for the right to play off in the decider.

Barham Koondrook won the Qualifying Final by only one run when they made 79, then Murrabit defeated Boort Yando in the Preliminary Final by only three runs.

Murrabit batted first making 3/68 with Xavier Murray top scoring with 13 and Parker Bray making 11.

Barham Koondrook (BK) seemed in the box seat following an inspired 25 from Riley D’Silva with support from Caleb Ralston making 11.

Requiring 11 runs from the final over, the Murrabit fieldsmen had direct hits on the stumps on three occasions for three run outs. The other three balls in the over conceded five runs for the BK team to fall four runs short.
