Kerang v Murrabit

KERANG were first up against Murrabit on run-friendly home turf, where all top five batters made a start to contribute to a 28-run win.

Daniel Pask shined the brightest, making 60 off 42 balls with 12 boundaries, while Rob Sutterby supported with 25 not out.For Murrabit, Brodie Hall took 3/20 off seven overs and Travis Collier continued from his form by taking 3/39.

Murrabit’s James McDonald scored a patient 28 off 76 balls in the chase.

Rylan Delamare snagged the very important wicket of Brent McKnight, who made 42 off 47 balls.

Delamare would finish the day with 4/47, as Murrabit fell short by 28 runs, scoring 150 to Kerang’s 178.


Tooleybuc vs Barham-Koondrook

AFTER electing to bat against Barham-Koondrook, Tooleybuc had a solid innings to finish their 40 overs 7/174, setting up a 23-run win.

Lee McNab and Alex Norton both made 28 and Tom Matarazzo 23.

Best bowling was Joel Davidson with 2/24 and Steve Farrant with 1/ 27, including three maidens.

Barham-Koondrook made a steady start to their innings, but lost a few wickets in the middle order.

Aiden Thompson batted well up the top with 29, Riley D’Silva had 23 and Davidson made 22, their side finishing 9/151.

Matarazzo took 3/11 off six overs, Tom Domaille took 2/36, Ben Doolan 1/20 and Campbell Fisher 1/11 off six overs.


Wandella v Swan Hill

AN even all-round team performance guided Wandella to a 189-run victory.

The Bombers travelled to take on the Swans and, after electing to bat, got off to a great start thanks to Laine Gibbons and Flynn McKnight.

After a partnership of 70, Flynn carried on to record his first 50 in senior cricket.

Nick Oliver (25) and Sam Hollingworth (25 not out) played well, but the batting honours go to Scott Bremner, who scored a run-a-ball 68 not out to help the Bombers to a total of 4/234.

The opening bowlers did the job with the ball for Wandella, Laing Waddingham getting a wicket with the first ball of the innings on his way to collecting two.

Sam Teasdale and Leigh Hollingworth snared three wickets each.
