Sunday Three Person Ambrose

On the last day of our annual tournament the wind finally stopped blowing, enabling everyone to have an enjoyable day on the greens.

With over 50 golfers setting off on a brilliant day, including three teams from Lalbert, a couple of which took out first and second places.

The winning team with a score of 68-11.3 = 56.7 nett consisted of David Doolan, Jess Worner and Danny Shepherd, with that combination sneaking home ahead of the team of Peter Harley, Doug Meehan and Scott Worner which registered a score of 68- 9.3 = 58.7.

The runner-up was just 0.1 of a point in front of third-placed Dave Gray, Gav Teasdale and Chris Gray with 67-8.2 = 58.8 nett.

Nearest the pins were Don Ross (3rd), Chris Gray (5th) , James Meehan (9th) Kevin Sambrooks (13th) and Joe Tartaglia 16th.

A big thank you to all our sponsors and green staff and helpers for their support and work throughout the tournament.

Coming events

On November 3 we have Legacy Day Four Person Ambrose. Our Day on the Green is on November 10.

Club Championships start tomorrow so please all members be there for the first round.

Kerang ladies

After last Wednesday’s lack of golfing action ahead of Kerang Golf Club’s annual tournament, the ladies once again took to the course in a stableford event.

The winner on the day was Michelle Dillon with a score of 37 points.

In the ball pool were Nola Robinson with 36 points and Meryl Cameron with 35 points.

Winner of the much sought after Pen Award was Deanne Free with 27 points, on a count back from Joyce Boyd.

Nearest the pin on the 3rd hole (sponsored by June Cullen) was Meryl Cameron.

Nearest the pin on the 9th (sponsored by Chino’s) also went to Cameron, so it looks like Meryl will be drinking a lot of coffee this week.

Next week there will be a 10am hit off.

Any member who wishes to be placed on the Christmas stocking roster please see either Michelle, Graham or Lyn Sambrooks.
