Kerang Ladies Golf 6/4/2022

A PERFECT day for golf with no weather-related excuses for poor play. There was much excitement for the winner of the monthly medal stroke day. Well done Geraldine on winning the shirt with net 71. Rhonda and Joyce in the same group also played well to be in the ball pool.

Shirley had only 27 putts to win the putting but unfortunately, she also won the pen. Joyce was the most accurate on the 9th to win the nearest the pin. Carol Dear had a few excellent putts and also managed a chip in and birdie on the 13th.

Next week we assemble at 9:30 for a 10 am hit off.

Thursday Golf

A good crew of golfers turned out for a damp day of golf but it didn’t deter our visitor from Boort Ray Taylor (27) with 37 points. R/up was a player we don’t see enough of in David Knight (15) 36 on c/b from Kevin Sambrooks (16) and Ross Nesbit (12). Others in the ball pool were Peter Jones (14) and Joe Tartaglia (14) got the last 2 balls on c/b from Doug Meehan (5) and Ron Schultze (25) all those players on 35 pts. NTP’s were Peter Jones on the 5th and 9th, David Knight 13th and no one managed to land on the 3rd and 16th.

Greenwood Mugge

Ron Schultze (25) continued his fine form of late and is this month’s Greenwood Mugge winner with 38 pts and that includes 23 around the back and would have been more except he went OOB’s on 18. Winner of the Ladies was again young Mabel Spitty (26) with 37 points to win by one from her sister Olive (1) on 36. The ball pool was Ross Nesbit (12) 37, Brad Gin (10) 35, Phil Lloyd (11) and Neil Carmichael (40) got the last 2 balls on c/b from David Wood (10), Greg Gin (16) and Jill Marshall (32) all on 34 pts. Nearest the pins were Mabel Spitty 3rd, Ross Nesbit 5th, Deaniee Henderson 9th, Brad Gin 13th and Michelle Dillon on the 16th. We welcomed a visitor from Melbourne in Brad Gin and Donna Grant has re-joined the club after a long lay off and duly won the pen on her first outing back.Cohuna

AS another Masters champion dons his green jacket, the “old masters” of Cohuna trotted out for the weekly R&R event last Thursday but it seems no one could rise to the occasion. Unfortunately not a single soul could play to their handicap as 34 points was the best score for the day. It was shared between a number of players requiring a countback to sort out the pecking order. Norm Cue played very well after an indifferent start to claw back and take the prize, followed by “Mr Consistent” Bob Nicholls, along with Geoff Hall and John Power. For the NTPs it was Kevin Crane on 2, John Power on 8 and Ted Jackson on 11.

On Saturday we had a number of players tee off early and the conditions must have been fantastic s it was those players who scooped all the prizes. Not a single person present at the afternoon’s results presentation received a prize. Warrick Woolhouse had a real day out amassing 46 points followed by another great score of 40 handed in by Liam Pascoe. Rhys Bradley came in 3rd with 34 points and also took home two NTPs on 8 and 17. The Woolhouse family also scored NTPs with Warrick on 2 and Joel on 11.

On Sunday, the Men’s Monthly medal was taken out by Gary Valentine with a brilliant 68. Liam Pascoe and Roy Dehne recorded very good scores with 72 and Jake Roberts with 73. For the Ladies, Robyn McGraw had a fantastic nett 70, followed by Marg Winship with 72 and Joy Johnson with 74. Men’s NTPs went to Scott Carmichael on 2 and 11, with Gary Valentine on 8 and 17. Sorry but I do not have a ladies NTP result for Sunday.
