Wednesday ladies, June 29

THE birthday girl, Marg Learmonth (25), had a day out with a great score of 37 points. The runner-up was Shirley Jenner (23), who also had a birthday earlier in the week amd played to her handicap with 36 points. Michelle Dillon was in the ball pool and had a good shot on the 9th to take the Chino’s voucher. Joyce Boyd birdied the 3rd with a great gobbler. Meryl Cameron found the course a bit of a challenge, taking home the pen award. Next week is the Monthly Medal Shirt and Queen of the Greens events. At the end of play we will stay at the clubhouse for a share lunch.

IT was another wet start for our R&R golfers and again Brendan Shields (13) 37 points, showed off his mudlark skills to win for the second week in a row. In the ball pool were Col Wilkie (15) and Terry Turvey (13), both on 36. Tony Laughlin (10) and Kevin Lane (17), on 34 each, won the last two balls from Peter Jones (14) on countback. Saturday

WITH no footy on, numbers were up on other weeks and Poddy Free (20) had his best day for a while and won the monthly medal with a net 69. Ladies’ winner was Michelle Dillon (10) on countback from Shirley Jenner (23), both on net 72. The ball pool was David Wood (10), Bryan Livingston (17), both net 70, Chris Waterson (5) 71, Graham Wyte (13) and Shirley Jenner on 72 net each. Nearest the pins were Graham Wyte on the 3rd and 9th, Terry Turvey on the 5th and 16th and Shirley Jenner won the money on the 13th. Next week’s event is the Greenwood Mugge, so golfers should get in some practice because we don’t want to see Chris win it again.
