Saturday’s competition was taken out by Gary Yates with 38 from his partner on the day, Alan Moloney, and Mal Appleby once again around the mark with 35. Mal was closest on 8 and 11 with Trevor Farrant playing a cracker on 17.

Sunday saw a mixed 4BBB competition played and it was Liz Thynne and Bob Nichols who combined the best with 43 points.

Corrie Murchie and Don Magick pipped Sandra and Dennis Griffiths on countback with 39.

Ladies NTPs went to Dianne Woolhouse on 2, Robyn McGraw on 8 and 11 and Genevieve Hare on 17.

For the men, it was Mal Appleby yet again on 2 and 8 with Dale McGraw on 17.

Jamie Angove took out the men’s individual Stableford with 33 from Trevor Farrant on countback.

Congratulations to Geoff Miller who has taken out this year’s men’s singles knockout from Joel Woolhouse on the very last hole to secure the win.

It must have been a great battle so congratulations to both finalists.

Saturday golf on July 30

We had a field of 23 golfers – 20 men and three ladies.

The captain had a mystery day not telling golfers until they arrived and playing par, much to everyone’s delight.

A sunny day that turned cold by day’s end. Winner of the day was Blake Shay with a plus two. Ball pool was Scott Harry +1, Barry Gladman was square with the card, Col Wilkie and Roger Pay – 1.

Nearest the pins were Barry Gladman 3 and 9, Peter Hall the 5th, Tony Laughlin 16, and Rob Fabry had the money on the 13th.

The pen went to Kevin Close.

Monthly medal next Saturday. A big shout out to the greenkeepers and people who help around the course.

The greens and fairways are on the improve and there is going to be some major improvements happening soon, newer equipment and the way the course is watered.

Once the weather warms up and things start growing, everyone will see things going ahead.
