KERANG

THE conditions were good for the club’s Wednesday monthly medal round.

The winner for the day was Joyce Boyd with 71 net.

Despite losing two balls to the water, Joyce managed to win the day, the putting competition, and be nearest the pin on Chino’s 9th hole.

She also had birdies on the 9th and 15th. Well played Joyce. Runner-up was Nola Robinson with 72 net and also in the ball pool were Michelle Dillon and Chrissy Downs.

The pen award was graciously accepted by Jenny Waterson.

A hot lunch was enjoyed by all. We look forward to the return of more players this week.

Thursday’s R&R Stableford was washed out.

Numbers on Saturday were a little better for the Greenwood Mugge and the winner for the third time in four months was Chris Waterson (5) with 35 points.

The ladies’ winner was young Sadie Spitty (44) on 39 points beating her older sister Olive (2) 31.

In the ball pool were Brendan Shields (13) 34, Andrew Spitty (+2) 33, David Wood (9) and Doug Ellwood (22) – both on 32 – and Olive Spitty.

Nearest the pins were John Murphy on the 3rd, Andrew Spitty on the 9th, Ron Shultze made a welcome return from Queensland to win the money on the 13th and David Wood on the 16th.

No one managed to land on the 5th. Andrew Spitty had the best stroke score of 72 and Frank Cianci took home a new pen.
