Ladies’ golf Wednesday

IT’S been so long since we have been able to play Wednesday golf, we weren’t sure if we would remember how to do it. Of course, the consistently competent captain, Michelle Dillon, has not forgotten. She played a fabulous stroke round of 81 (10) 71 to claim the Monthly Medal for November. Michelle also celebrated her victory with a coffee from Chino’s for nearest the pin on the 9th.

Ball pool winners were Carol Dear 100 (26) 74 and Shirley Jenner 97 (23) 74.

Rosie Laughlin took home the pen this week but deserved credit for some spectacular creativity around the golf course.

It was great to be back on the course and it is in amazing condition. Thanks so much to our volunteers, who have been working so hard to get us out there again.

Thursday R&R Stableford

NO golf played.

Saturday

THE Greenwood Mugge event was played on Saturday and the winner and the man to steer clear of for the next month is Brendan Shields (13), who won with 39 points on countback from Neil Carmichael.

The ladies’ goblet winner was Shirley Jenner (23) on 39 points, winning by four from Sadie Spitty (40) on 35. The ball pool was Neil Carmichael, Blake Shay (10), Luke Hadfield (13), Scott Harry (12) – all on 38 – Doug Ellwood (21) and David Knight (16), each 37 points. Dave Conlan (23), Ron Schultze (26) and Roger Pay (14) got the last golf balls with 36 points.

Unlucky to miss out was John Murphy (23) and Chris Gray (16) on 36. Nearest the pins went to Kevin Lane on the 3rd, Andrew Spitty (5th), Roger Pay (9th) and Chris Waterson (13th and 16th). Best stroke score was by Andrew Spitty with 72 and Gary Hayes got the prestigious pen award with his round.

The club welcomed two visitors from Mitiamo GC, Adam Gould and Matthew Miles, and hope they enjoyed their round.

Friday twilight golf started last week. Tee-off is anywhere between 4pm and 6pm and, after a game, join in the clubhouse for news, Jonesy’s jokes, raffles and of course Joker Poker. Brad Short won last week with 33.5 net.

Club championships and other events that the club has had to put off recently will be decided on soon and the captain will get the new dates out as soon as he can.
