THE cooler conditions meant that 14 ladies hit off together for ladies Wednesday golf, playing stroke for the monthly medal.

Winner of the day was Marg Learmonth with a net 68 and runner-up was Deanne Free also with a net 68.

Our monthly medal winner was Angela Morton with 72 net, closely followed by Michelle Dillon with net 73.

Michelle, Deanne and Meryl Cameron each managed a birdie. Deanne Free also won the putting competition with 25 putts. Meryl Cameron was nearest the pin on the 9th.Thanks to the ladies who supplied lunch which was enjoyed by all.

Next week will be Stableford. Be ready to tee off at 9.30am.

A good roll out of golfers for Thursday’s R&R Stableford Day and Greg Gin (17) found the form he was looking for to win the day with 38 points.

Runner-up for the day was the birthday boy Allan Free (20) on 36.

The ball pool was the inform Mark Henderson (25) 35, Brendan Shields (12) and Gary Pay (16) both on 34 and Doug Meehan (7), Ken Williams (20) missed out on countback.

Nearest the pins were Doug Meehan on the 3rd and 9th, Bruce Wright 5th and Greg Gin on the 13th and no one could get on the 16th in the day’s headwind.

Doug Ellwood had a magnificent round to win the pen.

A very small group of golfers turn up in the bad weather to play twilight golf on Friday but of those who did the winner was Steven Phillips with a 46–16=30 net.

Well done Steve. Unfortunately that’s all the information I have for that round.

Don’t forget after twilight golf join in the fun and joke-telling and raffles at our weekly Friday night gatherings starting at about 6pm.

A big field for Saturday’s monthly medal stroke and Brian Gibson (13) found the form that we know he is capable of, winning the won with a 65 net.

Ladies’ winner was Michelle Dillon (9) on net 73 from Bronwyn Good (31) 75.

Those in the ball pool were Rob Fabry (20) 68, Stephen Phillips (27) 70, Tony Laughlin (10) and Doug Meehan (8) both net 71, Luke Hadfield (11) 72, Jack Hewitt (11) 73, Joe Tartaglia (13), Terry Turvey (12) and Peter Jones (14) all on net 74.

Nearest the pins were Blake Shay on the 3rd, Gavin Teasdale 5th, Doug Meehan 9th, Scott Harry 16th and Michelle Dillon won the money on the 13th.

We held the final of our Ian Westland Four Ball just prior to the new year and it was between Chris Gray/Blake Shay against Gavin Teasdale/Shane Dibsdale with the Gray/Shay combination winning the final.

Summer Pennant started last Sunday, and we have two teams entered. It was played at Kerang, and we came away with one win and one loss.

The B team played against Pyramid Hill and lost 2/1, Jack Hewitt and Joe Tartaglia won 5/4 and Brian Gibson/ Chris Gray lost one down and Col Wilkie/Peter Jones lost 5/4.

The A team beat Balranald 2/1 with Brendan Shields/Mark Henderson lost two down, Scott Harry/Ron Schultze won 3/2 and Chris Waterson/Kevin Lane won 6/5.

This week is at Cohuna and the A team is from Brendan Shields, Scott Harry, Chris Waterson, Kevin Lane, Deaniee Henderson and Ross Nesbit and the B team has the bye.
