Down the Fairways – Kerang

Kerang

A GROUP of 13 ladies played stroke and monthly medal on Wednesday.

Players did well to negotiate a little water on the course and come in with good scores. Angela Morton won the day (70 net) on a countback from Carol Dear.

Chrissy Downs and Margaret Learmonth were in the ball pool also with scores of 72 and 73 net. Michelle Dillon had nearest the pin on the 9th. Margaret Learmonth had the least number of putts – 25.

Start time will be 9am for a 9.30am start from now on. Players are asked to book in on OneGolf if they are able, otherwise just come along.

The last competition day will be December 20. We will have afternoon tea at the clubrooms after golf on that day so plan to stay or come to join us.

Ladies Wednesday golf will resume on January 10.

At Thursday’s R&R Stableford, 28 members and guests played and the man of the moment was Kevin Lane, who scored 42 points.

Runner-up with a good score of 39 was Tony Hall. Others in the ball pool were T Laughlin and G Wyte 38, G McNeil and J Pay 37.

The much sought-after PEN Award went to captain Jack. NTPs went to D Thompson (visitor from Lakeside GC), 5th C Waterson, 9th A Free, 13th G Wyte and B Gladman on 16th.

A big turnout for Saturday’s Greenwood Mugge and Ladies Goblet event, with 32 men and 6 ladies.
