ON Wednesday, a miserable day for golf, five eager ladies set out to tame the course, with Michelle Dillon ending as the winner with 35 points.

She was followed by Jan Milne and Ange Morton on 32 points, with Rosie Laughlin on 31 points and Jill Marshall on 28 points. The Chino’s nearest the pin went to Ange Morton.

Thursday was R&R Stableford.

A better day for golf, 22 members entered the competition, with the winner being Kevin Lane after scoring 37 points.

The ball pool went to S.Dibsdale 36, and C.Waterson, D.Ellwood and B.Shields all on 33 points, while the highlight of the day was a hole in one for Tony Hall on the third hole.

The nearest the pins went to T.Hall (3rd), J.Pay (5th), C.Wilkie (9th), B.Shields (13th) and S.Dibsdale (16th).

Saturday was Stableford and par plus.

Captain Jack sprung a surprise on members by introducing par plus, an extra game within a game.

Entered were 22 players, with the winner of the men’s event being T.Laughlin with 37 points, while the ladies winner was M.Dillon with 38 points.

The ball pool went to R.Gannon with 37 points, C.Manners with 36 points, and D.Wood and G.Service with 35 points on a countback.

The winner of par plus was C.Manners with +3, while the nearest the pins went to G.Wyte (3rd), C.Manners (5th, 9th and 13th) and T.Laughlin (16th).

The pen award went to G.Kennedy.
