Getting there
Sea Lake is located 353km north-west of Melbourne, close to a four-hour drive on the Calder Highway.
Sea Lake is a modest country town, in the heart of Victoria’s wheat belt, it has a vibrant community and is just 7km north from the state’s largest salt lake, Lake Tyrrell.
The ancient lake, which spans 20860 hectares, makes for epic viewing, particularly around sunrise and sunset, and there is evidence of ongoing Indigenous occupation, going back 45,000 years.

If art piques your fancy, then stop by one of the latest silo artworks to be added to Australia’s largest outdoor gallery; the Silo Art Trail.
The works, titled “Space in Between” is the masterpiece of street artists Drapl and The Zookeeper.
It pays homage to the nearby Lake Tyrrell and the Boorong People, with their deep and rich connection to both the night sky and the 120,000-year-old salt lake.
