GANNAWARRA Council will soon begin road resealing works across the municipality.

As part of the council's annual capital program, works will focus specifically on rural roads near Cohuna, Lalbert, Leitchville, Koondrook, Murrabit and Quambatook.

"Resealing our roads regularly prevents moisture from entering the foundation level, which is a common cause of potholes," council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said.

"These works also extend the lifetime of our sealed roads, thus reducing maintenance costs."

Residents can expect short delays when sections of road are reduced to one lane or closed for up to 15 minutes if required.
