Students’ healthy start

EFFORTS to provide Kerang Primary School students a hearty breakfast will continue after the school received funding for a breakfast club.

The Victorian Government, in partnership with Foodbank, has provided funding for 173 breakfast clubs, including Koondrook Primary School and Kerang Primary School.

The government-funded program is in addition to the school’s growing breakfast program, which sees volunteers cook and serve an array of warm and cold delights provided by community groups.

“Empirical evidence clearly supports that a nutritious start to the day supports greater stamina, concentration and good learning,” principal, Brenton Taylor said.
