Down the Fairways – Kerang

Kerang

IT was good to have a field of 16 on Wednesday for the ladies Stableford.

Despite the gusty conditions, there were some great scores. Deanne Free won the day with 40 points and Jenny Waterson was close behind with 39 points. Joyce Boyd, Shirley Jenner and Meagan Taylor were in the ball pool. Meryl Cameron had nearest the pin on the 9th.

Next week will be monthly medal/stroke day. Assembly at 9:30 for a 10am hit off.

For Thursday’s R&R Stableford, what looked like a very cold and very windy morning, turned out to be exactly that in the afternoon.

It was surprising that 26 members turned up to play. The winner was a frequent visitor from Lake Boga (current President of the Vets) Fred O’Bryan with 41 points. Runner up Tony Laughlin had 40 points. Others in the ball pool were Jack Hewitt 38, A. Free 37 and R. Fabry 33. NTP’s went to B. Gladman 3rd, B. Shields 5th, F. O’Bryan 13th and D. Meehan 16th.

For Saturday’s Stableford, 36 members and guests teed off in overcast, windy conditions.

There were some good and bad scores, as per usual. The ladies’ winner was Rhonda Willoughby 32. Shirley Jenner was runner-up with 28. The men’s winner was Gary Pay with 37, runner up was Scott Harry 36.

Ball pool went to C. Manners and B. Shields 35, P. Hall and C. Gillen 34.

NTP’s C. Waterson 3rd, G. Teasdale 5th, D. Meehan 9th, P. Lloyd 13th and B. Shields 16th.
