Across the Greens – Cohuna

Cohuna

LAST week the team comprising Wayne Brooks, Marj Mooney, Ian Howard and Rhonda Ballard were winners at Pyramid Hill.

Congratulations on a great day.

Later in the week the team of Wayne Brooks, Ian Howard, Rhonda Ballard and Brian Bowles were runners-up in the Versatility Fours at Cohuna Golf.

A great week of bowling for these club members.

Last Tuesday, on a perfect sunny day with the greens running very quickly, 21 players enjoyed an afternoon of bowling. The only two-game winners were the team of Mary Meredith, Ken Hocking and Lynda Smith.

It was good to see Trevor return and enjoy a practice roll after being unwell for a lengthy time.

We hope you are back and being competitive in the near future, Trevor.

In midweek pennant, Cohuna 1 played Cohuna 2 in Division 1.

Cohuna 2 accounted very well for themselves on all three rinks but Cohuna 1 came away with an overall win of 52 points.

In Division 2, Cohuna 2 played Barham 3 and the home team went down by three points.

Terri Hancock’s rink played well to win by six but it wasn’t enough to get over the line as Merle Richardson’s rink lost by nine points.

On Saturday, in Division 2 three teams travelled to Pyramid Hill.

All games were closely contested on good greens with the wind playing havoc at times.

Nathan McGann’s team went down to Marie Scott’s team by six points.

Stuart Bascott’s team deated J Leed’s team by five points and Mary Meredith’s team lost to L Mann’s team.

Mary’s team started very slowly but fought back to take the lead; however, Pyramid Hill were too strong, winning by five points.

Saturday night’s social evening with Jefferson Smith was really enjoyed by all who attended.
