Big turnout for Cohuna’s Annual Classic

It was standing room only at Cohuna Bowls Club at the weekend as more than 140 bowlers, mostly visitors, took part in the club’s Annual Classic Fours Tournament.

Bowlers came from all over, including Horsham, Mildura, Swan Hill, Murtoa, Hopetoun, Echuca, Castlemaine, Bendigo, Aberfeldie, Essendon, Moonee Ponds and Torquay.

The tournament, which was played in perfect weather, also saw some strong support from our kindred clubs from across the region.

The eventual winners were Bendigo’s Phil Godkin, with Cohuna’s Frank Tonn, Ray Storey and Rhonda Ballard.

Runners up was a team of Ballarat bowlers, Peter Considine, Eddie Harwood, Neil Peoples and Robert Mason. Many have rebooked accommodation for next year already, as competitors look for another shot at tournament honours.
