KERANG will have a new outlet for kids with an interest in singing and music.
Paul Macneish and partner Deb Zuilani have launched the free Kerang Children’s Singing Group.
Five years ago the couple started the Kerang Singing Group for adults, who perform regularly at aged-care facilities around the region.
The new group is for children aged from about 7 up to 13.
The group will meet each Tuesday, starting on January 2, in a purpose-built studio at the home of Mr Macneish and Ms Zuilani.
Mr Macneish said that the aim is to perform every six to eight weeks at one of the two aged-care facilities in Kerang on Saturday mornings.
“The adult group has been very successful at entertaining people in aged-care facilities across the region, including Boort, Barham and Cohuna, about once a month over the last five years,” Mr Macneish said.
“The children’s group would stick to the two Kerang facilities so that there isn’t any travel.
“Local schools are sounding very keen to be involved and children from all the schools in the area are welcome to come and join the group.
“The audiences are very appreciative.”
Children who want to get involved can meet at the 110 Victoria Street studio at 3.30pm on January 2.
