Bowls rolls on throughout winter

IN KERANG’S Black Duck jackpot two-bowl triples played on Tuesday, 30 bowlers enjoyed good conditions.

Two-game winners were H. McBain, G. Fenton and I. Hastie on +21.

Second-game winners were R. McKerrow, T. Nolan and D. Monaghan on +21.

The jackpot number was -20 and was not claimed.

Next week the jackpot will go back to $90.

To play Black Duck call the club on 5452 1194 by 11am for a 12.30pm start or, preferably, have your name down on the list on the noticeboard by the day before.

No uniform is required and members of the public who would like to join the club are welcome.

The same applies to Saturday social bowls: everyone is welcome.

Saturday social bowls starts at 1.30pm.

There is also happy hour at the club every Friday evening from 5pm till 7pm so visitors can have a “roll” beforehand then head in for a drink with club members.

Even though winter is upon us, there is no need to put the bowls away.

There is still plenty going on at the club (and elsewhere for that matter) and the region has frequent nice days for enjoying a bowl.

The club’s huge spring carnival will be on next month – anyone can grab an entry form and join in.

There are many events planned to cater for every taste.
