Young leaders shine at Kerang South Primary

IT’S been a busy start to the school year for Kerang South Primary School.

This year, the school welcomed 19 prep students who have settled into their new school environment.

The school’s House captains were also recently inducted by Gannawarra Shire Mayor, Charlie Gillingham, at a school assembly.

School principal Lyn Veall congratulated the new house captains, noting they would represent their houses proudly, by “demonstrating great sportsmanship and leadership skills”.

Ms Veall said the house captain candidates were required to give a speech to their respective houses, and were selected following a voting process by their peers.

Ryan Tharaka was named Gold House captain, with Bryce Gordy as vice house captain.

Meanwhile, Chase McKenzie will take on the leadership role as the Tan House captain, supported by Campbell McAlpin as vice house captain.
